Welcome To Launde Primary School
A message from the Headteacher - Mrs Meer:
Dear Parents, Carers and Visitors,
It is a great pleasure to welcome you to Launde Primary School. I am delighted to have recently taken over the role as Headteacher and am very much looking forward to leading the school into a new and exciting era.
At Launde, we value strong links between family and school and recognise the importance of a strong partnership to ensure we provide the very best education for our pupils. Through this partnership, we nurture the unique character, skills of each child and ensure well-being of our children is paramount. Our child centred approach is captured in our vision:
'nurturing happy, resilient and unique individuals'
Children are at the heart of all we do. We are committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment where every child can reach their full potential. Our curriculum is tailored to meet the individual needs of all our pupils, ensuring that they receive a high-quality education that prepares them for the challenges and opportunities of the future. We inspire a 'can do' attitude for both staff and pupils, where we look to take small steps forward with encouragement and collaboration, working together to be the best we can be.
I am proud of our dedicated team of staff who work extremely hard to achieve this aim. As a large school with over 630 pupils, we understand the importance of providing a consistent and high-quality learning experience for all our children. Our dedicated team of teachers and staff work closely together to ensure that every class receives the same excellent standard of teaching and support. Work is planned jointly, in year groups with close liaison, communication and support from our amazing teaching assistants and support staff.
We have planned an exciting curriculum for our children that aims to spark the love of learning and an interest in the world around them. During planning, the year group staff share the preparation of work, drawing on different experiences, knowledge and expertise to ensure work is relevant and well matched to meet the needs of the children. In this way, we are able to utilise the strengths of a large staff team and enhance the quality of learning and teaching at Launde. We nurture our children to have a voice and give them opportunity to be on a stage and perform in front of others from an early age. This not only creates memories for our pupils but also gives them the courage, strength and determination to speak out and to share their views with others.
At Launde we believe that strong partnerships between home and school are essential for the success of our pupils. Our new Community and Inclusion Coordinator is committed to ensuring that all families feel valued and involved in their child's education. We aim to be a hub of information and support, providing advice and guidance on all aspects of family life.
At our school, we think it is very important that our pupils develop a strong set of values and principles and that they question and understand what it means to grow up in British society. We are committed to promoting British values and ensuring that all children feel included and respected. We celebrate diversity and welcome pupils from all backgrounds, faiths, genders, and abilities. Our school is a place where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported.
We are very proud of all we achieve at Launde and how delightful our children are. I am excited about the future of Launde Primary School and look forward to working with our pupils, staff, parents, and the wider community to create a thriving and inclusive school.
