Ofsted 2011

Welcome to our school website. We value strong links between family and school and recognise the importance of a strong partnership to ensure we provide the very best education for our pupils. Through this partnership, we nurture the unique character, skills of each child and ensure well-being of our children is paramount. The strong community ethos and child centred approach is underpinned by our vision statement:

‘Every child’s academic, artistic, physical and social

potential to be developed to the full within the Launde family’

Launde is a successful school which aims to meet the needs of all children. There is dedicated team of staff who work extremely hard to achieve this aim.  The children have developed wildlife and outdoor activity areas and are always involved in any new projects.

Class teachers are responsible for the children’s welfare and delivery of the curriculum, personalised to the year group and children in their care. Work is planned jointly, in year groups of generally three teaching staff, with close liaison, communication and support from our teaching assistants.

During planning, the year group staff share the preparation of work, drawing on different experiences, knowledge and expertise to ensure work is relevant and well matched to meet the needs of the children.  In this way, we are able to utilise the strengths of a large staff team and enhance the quality of learning and teaching at Launde.

At our school, we think it is very important that our pupils develop a strong set of values and principles and that they question and understand what it means to grow up in British society. Through a rich and challenging curriculum and through a focus on key events, we encourage pupils to reflect upon their role in society. We have developed the following statement which we feel encompasses our approach:

'Our balance of academic excellence and opportunities underpins our aspirational expectations and provides pupils with the skill, attitudes and confidence required to lead highly successful lives in modern Britain. The promotion of equality and diversity within our schools assists us in the embedding of the British values of tolerance, fairness, respect for other faiths, and the rule of law and democracy.'

We are very proud of all we achieve at Launde and how delightful our children are.

We hope you enjoy our website and find all the information you need. For any further information or support, do contact the school office at office@launde.leics.sch.uk.
