School Improvement Plan

Our School Improvement Plan

At Launde Primary school, we are committed to continually improving the quality of education and support we offer to every child. Each year, we create a School Improvement Plan (SIP) — a strategic document that sets out key priorities for development based on our school’s needs. The SIP helps us focus our efforts on the areas that will make the biggest difference to our children’s learning, wellbeing, and overall school experience.

For this academic year, our SIP focuses on four main targets:

1. Enhancing Teaching and Learning Across All Year Groups

We are working to strengthen the expertise of our teaching staff to ensure high-quality learning experiences for all pupils. This includes a particular focus on children who receive Pupil Premium funding and those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping to close gaps and raise outcomes for these groups.

2. Improving Support and Access for SEND and Vulnerable Pupils

We aim to develop and refine the universal provisions and classroom adaptations that support pupils with SEND and those who need extra help. This will ensure that every child can access the full curriculum and make good progress in all subjects.

3. Strengthening Assessment in Foundation Subjects and Science

We are implementing new assessment strategies in subjects like science, history, geography, and art. These strategies are based on our 4Ms of assessment and feedback, and focus on identifying and reinforcing key sticky knowledge — the essential facts and concepts children need to remember. This will help teachers better understand what pupils know and plan effectively for their next steps.

4. Raising Attendance Across the School

We are working to improve overall attendance to 96%, with a particular focus on children in EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), those with SEND, and those eligible for Pupil Premium. Regular attendance is vital for children’s learning and development, and we are committed to supporting families to overcome any barriers.
