PE Curriculum

At Launde Primary School, pupils have access to two hours of PE every week through which we develop the six areas of activity as set out in the National Curriculum – Dance, Gymnastics, Games, Athletics, Outdoor and Adventure Activities and Swimming. Each week, your child will have one outdoor PE lesson and one indoor PE lesson, in which they will learn new skills and how to apply them independently and within team activity.

At Launde, Year 3 and Year 5 children are given the opportunity to take part in a 10-week block of swimming lessons, at the swimming pool in Parklands Leisure Centre. Children will be taught to swim confidently, incorporating a range of strokes including, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke.
