Health and Fitness

Launde hosted their own health and fitness week in September 2017. In the following weeks, the children enjoyed completing different activities such as Walk to School challenge, a daily pedometer challenge and Joe Wicks healthy lifestyle activities.

Since then, Launde have adopted a monthly theme in which children are encouraged to develop a skill such as running, skipping or dancing, both inside and outside of school. The children's achievements are highlighted within assemblies and through the use of certificates, awarded to children who have shown good levels of activity.

This year we are again lucky to have the support of Leicester City in the Community. A representative from the project will be coaching PE lessons with the class teacher in every year group. This will provide extra ideas to add to our PE curriculum and to inspire engagement and activity within PE lessons.
