Creative Curriculum

There are three elements to our creative curriculum - art, music, D/T including food technology.

At Launde Primary School, we aim to give all children the confidence to express themselves through a varied and multicultural curriculum which reflects our identity within the community and wider world. To give our children real-life experiences. We believe that every child has the right to quality first education which inspires, engages and challenges our pupils. Children will have the opportunity, as they move through our year groups to experience a wide range of artists, designers, craftspeople, musicians and musical genres from a range of time periods and cultures. As they progress they will be exposed to a range of skills which will enrich and develop themselves as individuals. The children will be encouraged to reflect upon the achievements of others and their own skills and creativity through critical analysis. Learning and appreciating an enjoyment for the visual, audible and sensory world which we see all around us in art, crafts, design, food and structures that enriches all of our lives.

Our vision for our pupils is:

  • To have the confidence to express themselves
  • To develop their imagination by using a wide range of media and tools
  • To appreciate cultural richness and diversity
  • To make informed, critical responses of their work and others
  • To acquire new skills
  • To develop a love of art, design and music
  • To design and make with real-life purpose
  • To experience inspiring educational visits and visitors
