Foundation New Starters Information

Welcome to our new starters page for information for Foundation 2021.

Here you will find the information from each of the meetings that we have held.

Meet the staff who will be teaching in our Foundation Stage next year:

Mr Squires

Hi Everyone,

My name is Mr Squires, I am the teacher in Beehive. I am the funny teacher in Foundation, so I can guarantee you will be laughing a lot!

In Beehive, you will find a lot of fun and interesting activities to do and toys to play with. We have a painting table and creative table where you can make fabulous artwork and models. We have a full book corner for those children who enjoy looking at and reading books.

My favourite subject to teach is PE. In PE, you can throw and catch a ball; run, hop, skip and jump around outside, do some gymnastics and dancing (if you are really lucky, I might even show you my dance moves).

I also love reading to the children in Beehive. My favourite books to read are Elmer and The Gruffalo.

I am really looking forward to meeting you all, I am sure we are going to have a fantastic time learning together.

Miss Pearson

Hello everyone!

My name is Miss Pearson, I am the teacher in the lovely Poppyfield classroom. In my classroom, we have lots of exciting toys to play with and lots of fun activities.

My favourite subjects to teach are PE and art. PE is a great subject where you can practice running, jumping, throwing, climbing and much more! I love going outside and exploring. Inside, we have lots of different tables to make rockets, fairy gardens, play with water and splash with paint. I can’t wait to see what you create!

At the end of the day, I love reading my favourite stories. My two favourite stories are ‘There’s an ouch in my Pouch’ and ‘The Bumblebear’. I hope you are excited to join our big school and make lots of new friends and I cannot wait to meet you

Miss Barratt

Hello!

My name is Miss Barratt and I am the teacher in Fourfold. In Fourfold you will find lots of exciting activities, toys, and things to do! I love messy play so there will be lots of this within your classroom, but don’t worry if you don’t like getting messy, there will be lots of fun activities to choose!

We do lots of painting and creative activities, we have a role play area and we also have lots of different construction out so that you can make castles and towers! There are also small world activities that are based on the theme that week.

We have a snuggly reading area where you can take yourselves off and relax with a good book! We love reading in Fourfold, I love to read lots of different books, one of my favourite books is ‘There’s a Monster in your Book’ by Tom Fletcher, and I can’t wait to read this story to you!

My favourite subject to teach is maths, you will learn how to count, add and subtract and lots more! We also like singing in Fourfold so we do lots of songs.

I can’t wait to meet you all when you start school in the new term, and I’m sure that we will have lots of fun learning in Fourfold!
