Welcome by our Headteacher

Welcome To Launde Primary School

Pupils greatly enjoy their education because outstanding teaching ensures that the work they receive excites their curiosity and challenges them to learn. Consequently by the time pupils leave school .... attainment is high Mathematics and English.

A message from the Headteacher:

Dear Parents, Carers and Visitors,

At Launde, we value strong links between family and school and recognise the importance of a strong partnership to ensure we provide the very best education for our pupils. Through this partnership, we nurture the unique character, skills of each child and ensure well-being of our children is paramount. Our child centred approach is captured in our vision:

'nurturing happy, resilient and unique individuals'

The children are at the heart of all we do. We inspire a 'can do' attitude for both staff and pupils, where we look to take small steps forward with encouragement and collaboration, working together to be the best we can be.

I am proud of our dedicated team of staff who work extremely hard to achieve this aim. Class teachers are responsible for the children’s welfare and delivery of the curriculum, personalised to the year group and children in their care. Work is planned jointly, in year groups of generally three teaching staff, with close liaison, communication and support from our teaching assistants.

We have planned an exciting curriculum for our children that aims to spark the love of learning and an interest in the world around them. During planning, the year group staff share the preparation of work, drawing on different experiences, knowledge and expertise to ensure work is relevant and well matched to meet the needs of the children.  In this way, we are able to utilise the strengths of a large staff team and enhance the quality of learning and teaching at Launde. We nurture our children to have a voice and give them opportunity to be on a stage and perform in front of others from an early age. This not only creates memories for our pupils but also gives them the courage, strength and determination to speak out and to share their views with others.

At our school, we think it is very important that our pupils develop a strong set of values and principles and that they question and understand what it means to grow up in British society. Through a rich and challenging curriculum and through a focus on key events, we encourage pupils to reflect upon their role in society. We have developed the following statement which we feel encompasses our approach:

Our balance of academic excellence and opportunities underpins our aspirational expectations and provides pupils with the skill, attitudes and confidence required to lead highly successful lives in modern Britain. The promotion of equality and diversity within our schools assists us in the embedding of the British values of tolerance, fairness, respect for other faiths, and the rule of law and democracy.

We are very proud of all we achieve at Launde and how delightful our children are.

We hope you enjoy our website and find all the information you need. For any further information or support, do contact the school office at office@launde.leics.sch.uk.
