About The School

Our school

The word “Launde” is Norman-French, and means the space between two woods. Our school crest contains the Bishop‟s Mitre, trees and a bible, all of which pertain to our geographic link with the once great Launde Abbey.

The school is divided into two large buildings and four smaller ones. We have a separate canteen and kitchen. Our grounds contain a football pitch, a 5 a-side pitch and two playgrounds. The youngest children are situated in New Building, the oldest in Main Building. We have a hall for physical education, drama, dance, meetings and social occasions. Over the years the grounds have been carefully planted with trees and shrubs as well as outdoor equipment for the children to enjoy at playtimes.

We welcome the opportunity to show both you and your child around. Simply telephone the office staff, who will be happy to arrange a mutually convenient time.

There is also a playgroup on site. Gingerbread Cottage is an independent organisation with close links to the school. It caters for children from two and a half years of age.
